This was an amazing entry into the story. Opening up with the Midoriya vs Bakugo fight and it’s aftermath this volume continued to build on the people around Midoriya and how he deals with them all.

I like how this story evolved on two fronts. On the U.A. side we are introduced to the top 3 U.A. students, specifically Mirio Togata who is a big character with a unique look and quirk. The way he has learned to utilise his power is really interesting and makes for exciting combat scenes.

On the other side, the villains, we are introduced to Overhaul. He’s an interesting looking villain with a beak like a plague doctor. He isn’t with the League of Villains but represents another group. The best thing is his incredible quirk. Let’s just say it’s explosive…

As the main character, the focus should mainly be on the growth and progress of Midoriya and he definitely made some progress in this volume which is good because when there isn’t any progress I find it reduces the enjoyment of the overall volume.

As always the artwork in this volume is so good! I love the new characters and think their design was well thought out and executed.

Finally, I love how this one ended as it’s getting closer and closer to catching up with the anime plus it leaves it on a great cliffhanger.

Getting back into the swing of the story! I always find myself enjoying MHA despite myself.

I said it in the last review for My Hero, and I'll say it again. I really don't know how to rate these, cause the volumes seem to blend into each other events and tone wise. I think three stars from now on is just gonna be good. It was good. There was nothing that particularly annoyed me or made me jump up and down in the usual nerdy fashion, so it was just good.

Don't trust Togata at all. Smiles are deceptive people. And I have severe trust issues. Love when we get that Bakugo growth, and any team content will make my heart happy without fail.

Also, huge fan of grown ass adults traumatising literal children for the sake of a 'lesson'. Like leave the kids alone, they've been through enough my guy.

what is the point of making midoriya fail a "test" if he gets hired by sir anyway? that was such a lazy twist, i don't even know what to say :/

Y’all. I think I’m really starting to not hate Bakugo. He’s still a jerk, but he really gains some sympathy in this volume. I appreciate that, rather than him just being an annoying, mean character.
We meet Mirio in this volume and it might be one of my favorite character intro ever.
We also meet Sir Nighteye who is wacky, but I can tell he will be fun to read about in the future.
