I really enjoyed this final book in the Simon Snow series. While these books started as more fantasy, I feel like they moved into roman a clefs - telling not just Simon's coming of age story, but also Baz, Agatha, and Penelope. This book leads Simon to investigating all the new "chosen ones" that have cropped up since he defeated the Mage. Meanwhile, he and Baz explore what a relationship together looks like, and he begins to contemplate the rest of his life without magic. Penelope follows her own path with a Normal trying to break the curse he is under, and Agatha begins to explore life without being attached to the "Chosen One." This was a fantastic wrap-up to the stories of Simon and his friends.

hholy shit what a conclusion to a series. i loved it. the entire simon snow trilogy was a wild run and i loved every moment of this. i think that this one was my favorite out of all them.

the three different plot lines that were going on so interesting to read, i liked switching back and forward from each character and problem.

ok so penelope and shepherd were adorable. theyre such a great match and their dynamic was so fun. i loved seeing them solve the whole demon problem, it was so funny. oo and agatha and niamh were such a pleasant surprise. i got hints that agatha had some interests in girls in the second book and this was such a beautiful conclusion to her character.

finally simon and baz, i’m going to miss them . the almost/kinda break up talk they had in beginning made me tear up, but i’m glad they finally talked in out (i been screaming at them for the entire series lol). their whole plot with smith was my favorite . seeing simon deal with another “chosen one” was very interesting. i liked seeing that because this isn’t a very common trope so it was a first for me. i also loved baz’s reactions to smith (it was hilarious)

and the ending omggg. simon finding out his was the mages son broke my heart. but at least he found his family. anyways this series was as fun to read to second time around as the first. a great ending.
