Tbh nis posebno, svida mi se kazin backstory, al radnja je spora i mislim da je bio prebrz obrat iz enemies to lovers prvi puta, ocekivala sam neko vece sranje na kraju jer su ljudi rekli da bas bude napet kraj

My first experience with Mary E. Pearson's writing did not disappoint!

"Dance of Thieves" is a fast-paced political fantasy with a healthy heaping of romance. Our protagonist, skilled thief and trusted Queen's guard Kazimyrah of Brightmist (yes, yes, get in your jokes about a talented thief named Kaz here), is on a mission with her friends to investigate an escaped war criminal in a land across the desert.

The group arrives in a city known as Hell's Mouth, positioned outside the Kingdom they know and love, ruled by a family known as the Ballengers. Unfortunately, the patriarch of the family has recently died, leaving his entire "family business" in the hands of his son, 19-year-old Jase.

When Jase and Kazi are kidnapped, they escape into the desert shackled to one another. The duo must learn to trust each other in order to survive, and eventually return to Hell's Mouth, where Kazi is welcomed with open arms. However, her friends are still in Hell's Mouth too, and she must ultimately choose between her country and her great love.

I think the political intrigue and pacing wasn't too overwrought or complex that you couldn't easily keep up with who was angry with who and why. The characters' motivations made sense and it was nice to see how involved the secondary cast of characters were, especially after they were missing for 1/3 of the book while Kazi and Jase escaped.

Also loved how the history and world building is woven into the story throughout, especially with Jase's point of view and the history of Hell's Mouth. As someone who has not read "The Remnant Chronicles," that helped put into perspective where HE was coming from, as Kazi is the primary POV (although they do switch off).
