this book was absolutely amazing — everything about it! the gothic imagery and symbolism were so beautifully intertwined and created for such an engaging, interesting, and tragic story. the moors create such an interesting and adaptable background for this story and can be tied into multiple themes. the characters, while often awful, were just so compelling and charismatic that you were pulled into their stories and wished them the best. my favorite part of this book was definitely the love story (if you could call it that) between heathcliff and catherine and how destructive and unruly it became. truly amazing to read about, with so much tension, heartache, and intensity, all beautifully written. i could talk about this for a while but i just think that emily brontë is an incredible writer and everybody should read this book!
