This was such a fun, quick read, I loved the characters and their chemistry and their exploration of shibari and their own sexuality. I also loved the way they support each other throughout, albeit in different ways but just a great read.

i was really excited for this book to come out, and while i did enjoy it, i had some issues. it was a wonderful premise and story, but almost nothing was fleshed out. it was like the author only wanted to hit the highlights of what a typical romance is. there was no depth, everything was very surface level. that being said, i still enjoyed it. it was a fun and short low stakes book. will i read any sequels? probably not.

Frankie enlists Jay’s help explaining shibari on her sex positive podcast. From the moment that Jay sees Frankie he’s immediately smitten. The inner monologue these two have about each other is fantastic! I was constantly cracking up during those scenes.

Frankie is what I like to call a sunshine girl, always upbeat & looking on the brighter side of life. I wish I was more like Frankie, she’s just so positive. Jay is one of those genuine guys that would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his wallet. We see the book the length he is willing to go to make Frankie comfortable in situations. Jay is also a scared person, he’s been hurt deeply in events prior to the book so we do see growth in that he learns to let go of that hurt.

I love that we have a disabled heroine. Anything outside of what we perceive as “normal” isn’t really showcased in romance. I’ve only read a handful of books where one of the characters deals with a disability or illness that is more uncommon.

I have to say I loved the communication in this one. It was essential, but also so well done. Frankie being a sexologist, tries her best to answer her call in fans with their questions about accessible positions and play. So when one asks about rope play she asks around for an expert. When her friends recommends one of her brothers friends and an old school acquaintance she reaches out.

Their play was super hot, and while she was a commitment type person Jay wasn't and them finding their way together was a joy to read.

This book wasn’t bad, per say. But it definitely wasn’t the best thing I’ve read this year. I loved the overall premise and really love the representation. BUT. The relationship between the characters didn’t feel fleshed out. And the male love interest honestly didn’t grab my attention. He also creeped me out a bit a first, honestly. But I did enjoy the book, just doing think I would read it again.
