I enjoy the world of Caraval, although the main character leaves something to be desired. Given her history, her fears and anxieties are understandable, but after hindering the plot time and again and listening to her question every single thing, it gets old.

Caraval was a fun time, but I think I had more fun because of who I was reading it with.

I buddy read this book with two friends, and we had such a fun time talking about theories and laughing about how often we were wrong! I loved chatting with them about the book, and chatting with them helped me figure out my feelings about the book.

I had a great time reading the first two-thirds, but the last act was a lot to handle. I don't fully understand how the means and the ends were connected, and there were so many secrets that came out of left field that the chaos ended up feeling slightly underwhelming. I might have missed some foreshadowing, but I don't think I did.

I will definitely continue with the series, but I'm prepared to feel kinda meh about it all. 3 stars.

Absolutely loved this book! The writing was super fun and I adored all the twists. The end of the book really kept me on my toes and I loved how everything was revealed slowly but also consistently. It left ME questioning what was real. It's my new favorite<33
