I enjoyed the vicious parts more than I'd expected and the meaningful parts as much as I'd expected.

My first Bennett play, I deliberately started with the most well known and wasn't disappointed! I read a bad review of the film and chose to read the play before watching at school. I was instantly drawn in by the school setting and likability of the characters. I feel like a play written about subjects like these now definitely wouldn't escape criticism but Bennett handles the sensitive topics surrounding Hector and Posner very well. Bennett himself seems to be reflected somewhat in the book, through Posner's sexuality and late development. Highly recommendable book!
