A charming short romance set in the English Cotswolds at Christmastime. The story had nostalgic Christmas vibes and just enough cozy details to be worth while. Colin's character was very likable, too. If you want to give this book a try, I'd recommend reading a hard copy or Kindle version instead of the audio book version. Personally, it was difficult to listen to this particular narrator and it ruined the book for me a little.

I enjoyed reading A Cotswold Christmas by Kate Hewitt. It’s a stranger helping another stranger story. Anna Vere needed to get away from family and friends as she dealt with changes affecting her life. She decided to leave New York and travel to Cotswold to regroup. Unfortunately the Bed and Breakfast she was to stay had been flooded and she had nowhere to stay. Enter Colin Heath, a relative of the B&B owner. He would help her out with a place to stay, a place he had been remodeling. The attraction between these two develops as they open to each other, telling heartfelt stories and sharing deep down secrets. Now Anna and Colin need to figure out whether they can build a long distance relationship or if one or the other can give up their home to live with the other.

This was a sweet, fun and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I recommend this book to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Meh.
Narration was ok. Story was ok, a little far fetched, but ok. Characters were mostly ok.
Are you getting a sense of a pattern here? lol
I found this novel a little disappointing. Maybe I was expecting too much. I feel it needed to be much longer to flesh characters and their situation out a little. How does that great quote from Bilbo Baggins go? - “I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread.”
This story certainly felt this way and yet it had so much potential to be fulfilling.
Unfortunately, I won't be continuing with the series for this reason.

A quick and charming read. The set up was quite believable and the interaction between the two main characters came off very nicely. I got a real sense of the location as well-- one of my favorite in England.

I have no idea why these characters wanted to be together, aside from if they didn’t then we wouldn’t have a story. Very flat and underwhelming.

Just a simple, feel good Christmas story that follows along as you would expect. It was cute but not sure if I will read any more in the series.

Anna decides to escape New York for the holidays and heads to Cotswold. Of course nothing goes as planned. The B&B is flooded and she has no where to stay since all the hotels are booked due to the holiday. When she meets Colin he is not what she expects. He is young and ruggedly handsome. When things continue to go wrong she ends up staying with Colin and finding love where she least expects it. Lovely read. Not too much Christmas, just the right amount for an October read.
