Took me out of my years long reading slump, & for that, I will be forever grateful. I love this book, and despite being way ahead of its time, it definitely has its flaws and limitations. I do wish Jo stayed unmarried, but I guess that’s what we have Greta Gerwig’s 2019 film adaptation for.
i've got far enough into this to feel like book to feel like i have read enough to count it as read.
i found myself reading this just because i had started it and without desire to pick it up (unless i forced myself). as i read i played over scenes from the greta gerwig film and which suggests that all i really want to do was watch the film again.

the first half of the book has my heart <3
i honestly believe i would've liked this book more had i read it alone. a friend asked to read it with me and so this novel i could've read in a week turned into a 2 month+ journey and caused some annoyance in correlation to this book, even though it was really good.
jo and beth were definitely my favorites. i get why people say it's kind of "preachy", but i didn't mind at all! i see why it's a classic and it feels different from the other books i've read in the past. i think it would please a lot of different type of readers!!! some small parts were questionable but i am blaming it on the time period it was written in. such a great story <3

I get why it's a classic, but ultimately too slow for me. I loved Jo though!
Little Women follows the four March sisters — Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy — as they grow up in Civil War-era New England, facing challenges of poverty, ambition, love, and loss. Each sister navigates her own dreams and struggles while the family’s bond and moral values keep them united through hardships. The novel ultimately highlights the importance of personal growth, family loyalty, and finding one’s own path in life.
i am like 7 reviews behind on here and when i have the strength i will write something for each of them. but for now i lay in my bed staring at the ceiling in awe of this beautiful and brilliant book that i so desperately could not put down for the life of me
I really love and loved this book. I had to read it for school, I think, in 6 grade, and it marked me. It was the first ever book I loved from all the books I had to read for school, I would read it day and night, and I would read it even after the exam.
I remember identifying myself with Beth the most, as an introvert, and that it was comforting reading about the sisters and all they did. I would recommend it a lot, especially to young girls. I remember a lot of the girls in my class started loving reading thanks to this book, and that should be encouraged.
