My friend Sarah’s review for ICEBREAKER by Hannah Grace was one line: “5 stars for the spice, 3 stars for the storyline, 1 star for fact-checking the sports.” I love that review! But this is me, and you know I can’t leave it at one line; I’m just not built that way.

Loves:
•The mental health rep: the anxiety, OCD, and ED reps were handled well.
•Found family: I love Anastasia finding a home with the hockey guys. It brought me warm fuzzies.
•Anastasia’s arc: I rooted for her the whole time.

Meh:
•Once I reminded myself enough that the author was from England, I let that sports nuances slide, but I feel that is where an editor should have stepped up.
•400 pages: again, editor.

🙄:
•This is a personal opinion, but every romance does not have to end with a bébé. Childless adults are normal! Or let people use their imagination like I imagine no children and lots of vacations, lol.

This book got me out of a reading slump. It had me laughing out loud in multiple places. While I wish we had more Cutting Edge moments between Anastasia and Nathan, I enjoyed their relationship. It will stay on my shelf as I could see myself rereading it, just skipping the epilogue.

Also, can we appreciate how fantastic Leni Kauffman’s artwork is for the cover? There is truly no one better at bringing characters to life!

I may be biased when it comes to hockey romances now, but I absolutely loved this book!! Stassie & Nate are just the cutest! And they are a real power couple! I also loved all the side characters (besides Aaron obvs 😂) Lola, Robbie, Henry, JJ, just all of them! The support they show one another is incredible! I can’t wait for Russ & Henry’s stories, & I hope there’s more after that!

I found this so hard to rate because is it a good book? No. Did I enjoy it? Yeah, it was cute and fun!
Not much of a real plot but also somehow lots of topics covered? SO many characters which I enjoyed but it’s also frustrating to know so much about them and have nothing happen to them!!
Fluffy, kinda spicy, lighthearted, but not a serious hard hitter that would stay with me. Definitely a ‘brain break’ book!

The most fun thing about this book was ripping into it with my bestie after the fact. It's romantic and spicy and fun, but it was really too long for what it was. It took me so long to finish only because I couldn't be bothered.

A quick love story, nothing to be amazed about it, but everyone needs a little bit of a simple romance sometimes. No complex characters here.

I had such a hard time reading this book. I started reading it six months ago and was in the DNF stage for a while. Then I started it again and stopped after two days. To finally started reading it again a month ago and finished it.
I wouldn't particularly call it a bad read because it's not; it's just that I couldn't relate to the story and main characters whatsoever. But supporting characters were another story and the main reason why I continued reading the series.

Anyway, overall I see the appeal and why it's so popular, and I do recommend it to readers who like fun and spice (good spice ;))...

Would have been higher if it ended at Nate's graduation
