Just a warning that it’s extremely intimate and most of the time they are doing something dirty so if ur not into that I wouldn’t recommend.

Oh my. My grown niece recommended this, and I thought it was a middle / high school romance. Nope. It's over 13 hours and I'd swear that includes at least 7 hours of erotica. It's pure fantasy fulfillment - gorgeous athletes banging other gorgeous athletes, and quintessential wish fulfillment. That said, it does actually have a solid plot and gets less annoying as you go. It took me longer than most books to read, but 6 days meant it was still more than an hour per day of erotica 😂 It actually is well executed for what it is, I just wish I had known what I was signing up for in advance. It's not overtly sexist or racist, but I think everyone is cis, het, white, and mostly rich.

I just didn’t enjoy the story. I think it lacked plot and just wasn’t enjoyable.

For those interested, Icebreaker by Hannah Grace is a sports romance between two characters, Nathan Hawkins and Anastasia Allen, who is a hockey player and an ice Skater. The banter within the book was cute, the conversations and the friendships adorable. But there were more dislikes than likes. The style of writing, wasn’t a fan. The plot, couldn’t tell you. The characters themselves were non-favorable and the development within the characters wen’t downhill, not uphill. Overall, wish I spent time reading something else.

Recommend? No, I wouldn’t

I reserve 1 star for DNF but I cannot recommend this. Listened as audiobook and while I finished it out of some weird desire to see if it would get better, I can say it did not.

I folded.

And suddenly I understand, ‘I didn’t say it was good, I said I enjoyed it.’ Icebreaker has a flimsy plot, the pacing is off, and the characters are too numerous to be distinguishable, but you know what?

I had FUN

Not all of this was my cup of tea. I had several icks, but as a notorious contemporary romance hater, I actually enjoyed this a lot.

The characters are very flat in this book. The main couple's relationship is a joke built on an orgasm. He is not great at all (girl get a rose toy), and she is so stereotypical it hurts. I couldn't finish the book simply because I could not stop cringing. I was hoping for a cutesy romance but was let down by this "book".
