I got this because of the amount of drama surrounding this book, I felt left out
The way they spoke about this book made it seem like the spice started in page 1 and there would be no plot at all.
If I had come in without the drama, I might have rated it lower.

The spice is... Vanilla
The plot is long winded and thus it became a bit predictable.

Overall, an enjoyable read with lovable characters. Really appreciated the couple at the heart of the story communicated well and there was no miscommunication trope between them. I also appreciated how well their friend group communicated and expressed themselves. However, sometimes the pacing of the book felt a bit off and I wished certain elements of the plot were a bit more developed. I was kind of torn between rating this book anywhere between 3.5-4.25 stars - different moments of the book felt stronger than others. All being said, again, it was enjoyable, I liked spending time with the main characters, and I wanted to see where the overall story went. I’ll read more in this series!

It felt like reading a fanfiction on Wattpad, in a good way. A good book for a simple (but spicy) read. Longer book than expected, where nothing too bad goes wrong for too long.

This was not the book I thought I was going to be reading. I thought I was going to read and cute fun book about an ice hockey player being the impromptu skating partner for a figure skater. In reality that took up maybe 1/8 of the book at best.
What I did get was a very dramatic book about the lives of very sexually active University students who are so hot and cold with their emotions through most of the book, not that that stops them from hooking up … a lot. So if you’re not into spice in a book, this book is not for you.
It certainly wasn’t a bad story, but it felt like it skimmed over some plot points to focus more on the characters, and they’re evolving and changing relationships with themselves and those around them. I was excited to see more antics with a hockey player learning to figure skate, and so that part left me disappointed. I also feel like the opportunity to work through some side story relationship issues could have been better explored

I don't think this book is objectively great, and I'm not going to think too critically about my rating. It's a bit abuse and manipulation heavy for a romance. I recommend checking the content warnings, especially if you have health/diet/weight triggers.

I wanted a cute romcom and this was exactly that. Staci and Nate’s banter in the first third made me giggle and I was rooting for them for the most part. I wasn’t into their particular type of dirty talk but that was easy to overlook. Listening to the audiobook narrator say “fuuuuuuck” every time Nate was aroused got a little old and started making me laugh by the end. But above all I flew through this long audiobook and mostly had a really nice time.

I will say the epilogue struck me as gross. Staci and Nate have an accidental pregnancy, which would be fine in most scenarios, but they had had a very intentional conversation earlier in the book about how Staci wanted to adopt because of her own adoption and this ending felt like it was really undermining her agency. That choice alone makes me nervous about picking up other books from this author.
