If I’m being honest I didn’t care for this book that much.  All the mentions of sex felt way too much like immature middle schoolers who just learned what sex was.  The smut itself was okay, it read like something on Wattpad (derogatory).  Plus the pregnancy trope ruined it for me.

Aaron got away with way too much.  I don’t care what little drama with him was for the plot, he should have been put in his place; and even the ending for him wasn’t that good, he gets a transfer?  That’s all?!  He was so controlling, disgusting, and so creepy.

The other thing that bothered me was how lightly the eating disorder of the FMC was mentioned.  She constantly struggled with food and it’s just lightly glossed over?  Huh?  How are you so pro therapy but continue to ignore most of your problems.

I really liked Nate and his friends, while getting flowers for his girlfriend he also got his friend some because he hadn’t ever gotten any before was such a wholesome moment.  Nate’s character in general was really enjoyable.

The book that started my love affair with hockey romance! Swoon!!!!!!!!! I love Stassie and Nate's relationship, the grumpyxsunshine trope always hits, specially when she's the grump.

+1 star for Henry, he was literally made by women, for women
-1 star for how the book slows down at the halfway mark
+1 star for the diverse characters
-0.5 stars because I hate Aaron
+1 star for this being my first smut book, starting off way strong but I will be reading Wildfire after this
+1 star for the random plot twists sprinkled in, keeping me on my toes

I picked this up from my friend as a joke but unfortunately, I kind of liked it. Mostly in part because the male love interest parallels my boyfriend in many ways and he’s perfect and hot and talented sooooo…. duh. But the plot was interesting enough and the tension throughout the enemies to lovers trope was enjoyed more than expected.
Be warned that this as close as a book can get to being p0rn basically lol. But ya know what… I wasn’t mad about it 🤷🏻‍♀️
The maturity of the writing was the hardest thing to see past. There were several times throughout the book where I was like “oh, I’m actually physically cringing”. There were also times where I said to myself, “I could’ve written this in a fanfic when I was 14.” So it’s kind of bad and juvenile but I stuck it out bc the main characters were hot sue me
Also the ending was catastrophically unsatisfying!!!
Stas just gets knocked up and basically her whole career is gone?! Be for real girly!!! Did she even want a baby?! Did Nate? It’s just annoying like WHY did they have to get pregnant why can’t they just be successful and chill out

I may be biased when it comes to hockey romances now, but I absolutely loved this book!! Stassie & Nate are just the cutest! And they are a real power couple! I also loved all the side characters (besides Aaron obvs 😂) Lola, Robbie, Henry, JJ, just all of them! The support they show one another is incredible! I can’t wait for Russ & Henry’s stories, & I hope there’s more after that!
