just finished rereading it and I think it got me a lot more the second time. i liked the style of writing, the vibe and emotions that the sentence-structure transmitted. i felt that sometimes it was scratching on themes that felt rather forced or not really necessary because they weren‘t developed in depth

This story began as a wonderful and youthful tale of forbidden love, but morphed into a hyper-realistic reflection of life. This is not the book if you are hoping for a happy ending or tragic romance. It's somehow perfectly balanced in-between.

I cannot lie, I hated this book. I was excited to read it because I had heard such great things, but I just didn’t connect with it. I felt like the characters were not deep or relatable, they were just products of what happened to them. Maybe that was the point but I did not like how it was executed. Things just didn’t land for me, and it felt like one of those books that’s thinks it’s revolutionary, but it really just wasn’t.

I suppose it was an easy read, I read it at the airport and during my flight and finished it right as my flight was wrapping up. However, I was under the impression that this was a widely loved book and... I am not exactly sure how that is true. I suppose if reading books

about women who keep ending up in abusive relationships

is your cup of tea, then sure, this might be a good book for you. I, however, don't appreciate the this kind of story trope, so I probably would not read this book again, and I probably actually would not recommend it to anyone.
