Um, I kind of feel like everyone should read this book at some point. It was so uplifting and inspiring.
No matter what our struggles or limitations, we matter and we can make a difference. God is aware of us and will truly make our weaknesses into strengths if we allow Him.

I listened to the audiobook, which is actually read by the author. I would definitely recommend.

Nick is a great guy, and I got inspired by his story. I recommended his videos on Youtube and I even invited him to speak at a conference I organized back in 2015. For all of that, I did not hesitate before picking this book from library to read it. Yet,I was hesitating in my ranking whether to give it only two stars (or probably less) or four. I made it eventually three but still hesitating. Probably I`ll change it after finishing this review.

To start with, the book is great. It is anti-depressing, motivating, and inspiring with a lot of hope in life. It is also fun to read. Some chapters in the book made me laugh at the top of my lungs, and some made me feel extremely sorry.

The book has a huge number of stories, most of which are interesting. I found myself telling my colleagues at work and friends about many of them. For example, the serfer who lost her arm and leg after being attacked by a shark tiger was nothing less than astonishing.

Some parts of the book were extremely inspiring that I had to note them in more than one source. My favorites are:
"You will fail because you are human. You will fall because the path is rough. But know your failures too are part of the gift of life, so put them to their highest use. Don`t stop, mate. Give everything a go!"
"A nose job won`t bring you a life of joy. A ferrari won`t make you admired by millions. You already have what it takes to be loved and valued, it`s just a matter of releasing and maximizing all that lies within you. You won`t always be perfect, and that`s perfectly fine. The idea is not to attain perfections in your lifetime, it is to seek it."
"We humans are a silly bunch. we spend half our time trying to fit in with the crowd and the other half trying to stand out from it"
"Sometimes, through our own doing, we make little problems big by taking them way too seriously"
"On my journeys I’ve seen more joy ib the slums of Mumbai and the orphanages of Africa than in wealthy gated communities and on sprawling estates worth millions"

After stating all of that, I do not believe that I would possible someday recommend the book to someone. I feel more that this is a religious book for Christians, and as such they are the most ppl who would benefit from it. Many ideas are being mentioned repetidly. The stress on the love for Christ is mentioned little too much. I had to skip in many parts of the book because they did not make sense for me, or because I was bored as hell. I believe this book is more for Christian teenagers who are looking for an inspiration to go to the church. As such, I would only recommend the book based on what faith the person is.

Unfortunately this was not what I expected. I was looking forward to reading about Nick’s life, however this particular book is focussed on preaching his faith. I’m sure others with enjoy, but not for me.

I love this book - there are so many positive inspirational stories and quotes, I just want to write them all down to absorb them in. I even like reading this while I'm on the treadmill - a good engaging read and motivational too.

No matter what disabilities you may have, focus instead on your abilities! Focus on what God has blessed you with. Understand that God made you who you are for a purpose in this world.

Highly recommend!

There are two things I want to say about Life Without Limits. One is positive, the other one not so much.

1. It was extremely inspirational
2. It was extremely long

I’ll talk about number one first because... well, it’s number one. Duh. I cannot count how many times an experience or phrase or perspective Nick included that was awe inspiring. Seriously. I cannot. I don’t have enough fingers.

When I first started, all I could feel was sorry about Nick’s condition. He was born without legs or arms and I don’t know whether I could be okay with that. But then you read the first chapter and I couldn’t feel pity for him anymore. Not because I’m a horrible person or anything, but because Nick conquered so many things that he was inspiring and is a well deserved idol. Hell, he does stuff I can’t even do. Like surfing and snorkelling and rolling over your head (because I’m about as flexible as wood).

You really get to know Nick in this book. However, the consequence of knowing Nick is that this book seems to drag. It did take me a while to get through it simply because each chapter has so much that you actually need to process. No skim, light reading here, folks.

description

This is a short review, mainly because I felt like there’s only a few things to say about it. The amount of inspiration you get from this book is astounding and there are some fantastic life lessons in here that are shared. One thing that should be mentioned for those who want to read this is that there is a lot of Christianity talk in this as it’s such a big part of Nick’s life. I personally found it a bit uncomfortable in the beginning, but soon got used to it, but I feel like that’s just something that should be mentioned if you’re not comfortable with that.

the first book that I ever read about disability! it was a joy although I didn't relate to the religous aspect of Vujicic life. it was a good easy read although, it was something that made me realise how undervalued the topic of disability is when it comes to books. regardless if you enjoy reading about disability then this is the book for you!
