I liked seeing her grief over Zaid. I also liked the reveal of the Golden Lion. The backstory of Gozi made me cry. I didn't realize that he was cursed with eternal life but not eternal healing. The scene where he finds a new family and they stitch him up with octopus legs just to have the whole world burn broke me.

Worth the wait for the 4th book in the captively written and beautifully illustrated Cleopatra in Space. Things heat up quite literally in this book, with new environments and deepened character development.
I really love these books. I also think Cleopatra and Zita the Space Girl would totally be besties.

THIS BOOK SERIES IS RIDICULOUSLY GOOD!!! I can't wait for the next installment. The action art is so exciting, the whole thing is wonderfully colorful, and it's gotten super deep. This book even addresses her whole stereotypical "I hate math!" attitude that I complained about in my book #1 review. I am totally on board with this series. Give me more.
Read along with my rising third graders, who are able to each take on the roles of multiple characters to read out loud. I appreciate that that this is a book we can read together, literally. They both enjoyed this volume, especially the addition of Mihos. I wonder about the implications of Cleo's glowing powers and her possible healing or protective abilities. The ending came as a big surprise, and though I don't think that anyone is actually dead, I wonder how things will play out in the final two books.
This one was a miss for me and I usually love the books in the Cleopatra in Space series.
The ending redeemed The Golden Lion somewhat, but overall, I felt underwhelmed and a tad confused even though it hasn't been that long since I read the previous book. This felt more like the middle of another graphic novel than its own standalone.
I may reread in the future in sequence with the other novels in the series and see if my opinion doesn't improve.

Cleopatra, yes that Cleopatra. These stories mix Ancient Egypt with Scifi to make one, two...now four amazing adventures. The story line progresses in an attention grabbing and mysterious way.
I adore these fantastical stories.
I can not wait for the next one!

Following along Cleopatra's adventures she heads to a new planet that has the CUTEST snow animal...(of course now I can't remember her name!)...but the story itself was fun. Sadly I am useless for details a month later. If you read these in order, I recommend you grabbing this one.
Read if you enjoy graphic novels--- and order doesn't truly matter, but it is better.
