I had the biggest smile on my face for a good portion of this book. No lie. I also cringed a couple times out of second hand embarrassment for Asher a couple time at the beginning of this book, but I seriously had the best time with this one. There was so much to love about this book, but the biggest for me was Asher and his devotion to both Wynter and Mason. He was seriously such a swoon worth male lead, I don't know how anyone wouldn't like him (though obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion (even if they are wrong)).

Ok, joking aside, Asher and Wynter were truly great characters. Yes, there is a secret baby, though when you have no idea who the father is, it's difficult to tell him about said child. I think the entire situation around the secret baby aspect of this story was handled perfectly. The way both Asher and Wynter react when they find out who the other person is, is truly the best. I loved how the relationship between Wynter and Asher developed, and I loved how they learned to communicate with each other. I loved how Asher was immediately dedicated to being a good father and I love that Wynter let him.

Honestly, the vibes of this book just worked perfectly for me, making this such an enjoyable read/listen. I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I've read from this author, and this book was no exception. You bet I will be finishing this series and continuing to read whatever else she has in store for us.

I am completely obsessed with Asher oh my god. Secret baby is always going to be a soft spot for me especially when in this book’s case, the mmc was in from the start, fully on board and all about the fmc and the baby. He was adorable and I just loved the little family that Wynter, Asher and Mason had. There was a some out of pocket moments and I did not love some of the situations that Wynter found Asher in however it was not a huge mark against the book. Still super enjoyable and just a fun time! Definitely one of my new favorite football romances!

Epically Good

This is my first book by Julie Saman and what a doozy! OMG!

Asher is the kind of hero that stays with you. He haunts your thoughts, your dreams, your fantasies. And not just because he's a tall, gorgeous, hunky football player! Or a former member of a rock band! But because of how deeply and unapologetically he's obsessed and in love with the girl. His unabiding devotion to her even when she runs from him, is one of the sweetest, most romantic things I've ever read.

Wynter is about as independent as they come. She's a surgeon. A single mom. And a total loner for so many reasons. Her trust is a preciously rare commodity and one Asher must work time and again to earn and keep.

I dove into this with no prior knowledge of the universe, and I never once felt lost or confused. I also don't feel like the previous stories have been spoiled for me. I will happily go back to read about this amazing cast of characters! But I started here because I wanted a football book, and oh man did this deliver!

If football is your thing, J Saman knows her stuff! At least, to a semi-casual fan like me. There was just the right amount of on field action both during games and practice to satisfy my craving. I only wish we'd gotten to know some of his teammates more. But with an already fleshed out crew of friends, I get why they weren't necessary. Still, you feel Asher's love and loyalty to his team from start to finish.

Truly, truly excellent book!

This book was fantastic. I loved the dynamics of the main characters relationship and how it evolved over time. The mystery/intrigue added more interest to the story so that it didn’t feel bland/boring storyline.

I wish there was a bit more interaction with her parents and the friend group. The majority of this book is just through scenes with the 2 main characters. I feel like seeing more of their other relationships would’ve bumped this into 5 stars.

Also, I want to give it to this author. Not sure if she’s from the Boston area, but she represented it really well even from the characters themselves to the geographic area and even down to Asher’s mannerisms.
