The overall story was too shallow, like I am not meant to truly enjoy them but to watch (skim) over their stupidity.

I did not like Roisin's character. She was truly fickle (hahahaha) One time she felt so deeply with the first prince and then be enamored with the second prince. Like, be firm woman!!! She was sooo bland, no depth, no structure. She wasn't a queen in the making, she was a little spoiled princess. She has all this wonderful ideas in her head but lacks the action to do anything until the end. She was blind, deaf, and stupid in this love (scoff) for Alrec. I do not believe she hasn't heard any speck of his brutality even once in her stay in the palace. And even by the time she knew, it didn't even matter!!!! (gosh) Cause she just made herself believe she loves a lie

I may be too old for YA now, but gosh, ALL the characters (even the adults) act like juveniles in this book.

Roisin, our FMC, is a fae, but she might as well be human; it doesn't affect the story and her characters whatsoever. She could have just as easily be a princess from another country or something that gets married off for the alliances beteeen two kingdoms. She's extremely childish, despite being 19. You mean to tell me, that the whole 4 years she's been in the kingdom, she never once sees Caiman with her own eyes, hear him with her own ears, and think about him with her own brain? That she could easily be fooled by Alrec and Kerrington's words? Yes, Caiman did say that ONE line, but it was just ONE line. She put way too much emphasis on ONE line. She acts like Caiman is an evil incarnate, when the worst things he has done is responding to HER mocking and bullying him instead of the other way around.

The supposed "character developments" happen way too fast and suddenly. The conflicts are caused by small and insignificant things; these people need to breathe and calm down. They put too much emphasis on insignificant things.

Fantastic

I was hesitant because I haven't been a fan of this authors past work, but this book was fantastic. I would love to read more of these characters. The romance was well done, the side characters were well written and worked well to drive the story forward. I loved watching Roisin and Caimen fight for the truth and to eventually find each other.
100 % recommend this to other fans of fae romance

What I really like about series like this is that you never really know what to expect from a story or book. There is a common theme, Fae are getting married, but apart from that the authors are all free to tell their own story, to do their own thing, to create their own world. And I don't read the blurbs of the books. I like to be surprised and hopefully even amazed. I was therefore really excited to dive into this book, written by a for me new author.

And what a beautiful story was this! The books in this series might be relatively short, but the authors are doing an amazing job with the few pages they have. Especially in this book I really fell in love with the characters. I was rooting for them so hard that I spent the second half of the book almost terrified that something bad would happen to them, even though I knew that somehow there would be a happy ending.

I also really loved the politics in this book. And there was so much politics! The politics on the bigger scale, considering the war and the enemy's ships a little too close to the coast for comfort. But also the politics on a much smaller scale, between the two brothers. This book also really showed how much power king and crown prince can have and what that means for the people who are not them, how stories are twisted and lies become common knowledge.

Although we see only a relatively small part of the world in this book, I really got the feeling the world was huge. Not because the author spent a lot of time explaining the world to us, but more because of throwaway lines, discussions about other kingdoms and partnerships, namedropping of Isles and kings. I somehow wish we had more time in this world and could see more places and read more stories. I hope the author will consider it!

3.75 ⭐️ IF I EVER HAVE TO READ THE WORD “BLOOMIN” AGAIN I AM GONNA RAGE. Aside from that I liked this book, I just hate the whole miscommunication trope. Honestly a good quick read tho! Finished in under 2 hours

Married by Fate is the second book within the Arranged Marriages of the Fae series.

In this, you will meet Lady Roisin, Prince Alrec, and Prince Calman. She is soon to become queen and marry the heir, Prince Alrec. Yet, she has a wondering eye for the second heir, Prince Calman. It doesn't help that he's also in love with her either but can do nothing about it due to his older brother. Between the two? I would have picked Calman every single day. It didn't seem like Alrec even liked Roisin... he was definitely more in love with himself.

Just like the first book this one flew by. With so much tension, betrayal, and romance - how could a book go by slowly? I definitely enjoyed this one and even liked the little surprise at the end. I figured she couldn't truly be by herself within that kingdom and was happy to be right.

Definitely excited to jump into the next book of the series!
