Huge thanks to Shawn Reilly Simmons, Henery Press and NetGalley for this copy in exchange for an honest review.

More about the mystery than Penelope's job, it's mentioned a couple of times but doesn't overshadow what she's trying to accomplish or the murderer she's chasing.

Fun characters who you enjoy reading about and with some of them being actors and actresses they were written about as more down to earth and 'real' than they could've been portrayed.

I want to read the rest of the series as I really enjoyed this and want to see what else Penelope can get herself into.

In this third book of the series, we find ourselves closer to home in Manhattan with Penelope and Arlena. They're filming in a hotel that is closed for renovations but the studio has hired the hotel out before the renovations begin for the filming of the movie. During their weekend break, where does the gang go? What is it for? Who is it about? What kind of phone call does Penelope get in the middle of the night that almost gets her arrested and lands Joey in hot water with two different sets of police bosses? What happened? What an incredible book. Things were not as they seemed and what was actually going on that caused the death of one person and the accusation of another for that murder was INSANE! I cannot wait to read the 4th book in this series tonight!

Penelope Sutherland owns Red Carpet Catering and recently landed a job catering for a movie crew. Most of her time is taken up with trying to make her business a success. Things seem to be going well until she gets a late night call from a friend that gets her involved in a murder mystery.

I haven't read any of the other books in the series but didn't feel lost or like I was missing any necessary information. I really enjoyed the characters and definitely plan to go back and read the rest of the series.

The story was quick read and fast paced. Penelope was very active in investigating the murder and I was always wondering what she was going to do next or how she was going to deal with the information she found out.

Overall this book was a good quick read that I recommend to readers of cozy mysteries.

I received this book from netgalley for an honest review.

I quite enjoyed this - despite its obvious bonkersness! Pen is running around again within a couple of hours of being thrown in front of a cab - and she barely gets asked about what we're told is significant facial bruising. But the characters are fun - despite Joey going off the deep end in some ways - and the mystery is interesting enough to mean I'll keep an eye out for the next one.

This is the third book I have read in the series and I liked it. Penelope is once again involved in a murder. I really enjoy the Catering Background and the characters. The mystery was good with lots of suspects. I will continue to read this series. Enjoy

Huge, glaring plot hole which is irritating. Otherwise, a nice easy, if unrealistic, read. Good for the beach.
