I have to admit, I almost didn't make it through the first act because I found Emmeline (the main character) so unlikeable- but I'm so glad I stuck it out!
I've got some nitpicks about the writing flow and style- for example sometimes details of the story seem retroactively put in, and sometimes the characters said things that sort of broke immersion for me because the way they said it doesn't seem to fit in with the time- but I loved the actual story part of it, and as we got deeper into the mystery I found myself anxious to know how it would all end. The ending was sweet and I feel it wrapped up pretty nicely. Definitely a good October read.

This was an entertaining read for the most part. Some of the things that made the book less enjoyable for me included how often a fiancee headed to Bermuda is mentioned, the ending is ridiculous and saccharine , and there was not enough exploration of Faraday House- I want to actually be able to smell the house as I am reading.
