Beautiful setting, and captivating personality of characters. The writing was a little too simplistic, and not particularly impressive. Seems like it was poorly translated from another language, or it was trying to capture the authentic speech patterns of the peoples it depicts. I could still see myself getting lost in the setting. To be honest, I only read it because a girl I knew read it, and I wanted to impress her.

 I enjoyed this book more than I thought I was going to, and I really did like how many different cases the detective investigated throughout the novel. The writing was okay, but it was just felt a little off in places. There are some issues I have with the portrayal of the characters, but overall it was a decent novel and made a very sunny day better! 3.25 ⭐️
