I think my mom may have been reading this series when I was living at home. Picked it up, read, put it down...good travel novel(one you can leave for someone else)

I read the whole series and loved them all from start to finish!
This was a very nice book with lots of little stories within it that have surprise endings.
Didn't think there was an ongoing storyline that keep me engaged. There seemed to be lots of small plots
slow-paced
Turns out I had not read this…maybe started it years ago. Fun first book in the series with the origins of the detective agency, a big of her personal history, and some detective work with details about Botswana and a budding romance. The problem solving is fun and the stories clever.
I had heard so much about this book, for so long, that I am not sure I can accurately rate it. I thought it was really, really charming. It took me a bit to get into the style of it, and I wonder if a reread would make parts of it have more meaning? I have the next two in the series sitting on my shelf, and hopefully I'll get to them soon.
I really want to give this book 3 and 3/4 stars. I really enjoyed reading it. It was humorous and well written. There were interesting insights into life in Botswana (I actually justed checked out a book on Botswana after reading it), and I loved how it showed how one person going about his or her day really made a difference in the world. Not necessarily on a grand scale, but a little here and there. The main character is also endearing and honest. The only thing I didn't like is that it is not a gripping story, at least to me. Usually I fly through books, but with this one, I would read a little, then read something else, then come back to it.
A nice easy read, but I struggled with how so much of the writing was short sentences. Felt very jarring to read. In saying that, I think I'd read the next book in the series one day.
