This book is an enigma. The first part of the book made me feel for some of the bad guys and I really wanted to see their journey. However I found the final third a struggle and this is the reason for rating.
The author's detail worked well for some characters however others almost seemed pointless.
Oh well onto the next book!

I don't know why I had so much trouble getting into this one. I like the Iron Warriors, especially 30k Iron Warriors, and I really appreciate the chance this book gives to get to learn about Perterabo, who is a much more interesting and deep character than I realized. I really don't like the Emperor's Children, though, and I think that might be why I wasn't crazy about this one. Although, the creepy body-horror aspects of Fabius' apothecarion was neat, and I enjoyed the exploration of more of that side of the Emperor's Children.

Also,
SpoilerFulgrim's ascension to daemon-princehood was pretty rad.

Like I said, this one didn't grab me as much as the last few have, but I have no quantifiable reason why that's so. On to the next, to spend time with my Angry Boys.

Once again, a Primarche who I didn't care for on the outside who I all of a sudden want to get everything they try to achieve.
A great dive into Purterabo and the Iron Warriors, while seeing how the traitor legions view each other and react together.
Love that no one wants a bar of Fulgrim and the Emperors Children but they tolerate them like you might a junky friend/relative.
Also cool to see.a little bit of a spot light on some iron hands and see some Istvan survivors do what they do best, try and get revenge in any way possible!
