I have no idea how to rate this. I read it on a whim because it inspired a fanfic that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately it’s quite different from it; It’s much more… miserable. I didn’t cry at all, but our heroine never once got a break. While I enjoy a “fun” dark romance once in awhile, this just didn’t feel complete, the ending wasn’t all that satisfying. I’m probably not gonna read the second book because I know that shit is gonna be nothing but misery. Anyways, if you enjoy dark romance and are desensitized, I recommend!

This was an intriguing and imaginative concept, Aliens that look just like us, only much larger in all things.
They think due to humans small stature that we must have a small brain rendering our intelligence low and limited but able to mimic fantastically.
Apparently we can be trained and make excellent house pets and recreational toys (yep exactly what it sounds like)
so in this tale, we have Bach Bauer and his pet Pani: after the death of his wife and child in a car accident he's lonely so decides to acquire himself a pet from Exotics Incorporated.
Naming his new Pet Pani and taking her home he finds himself with a naughty disobedient human on his hands.
So this itself had a lot of age-play there's spanking and bottles and a crib and Bach takes care of his new human pet like he would a small child, even getting Pani to call him Papa.
This wasn't really a sunshine and flowers type of read and could feel somewhat dark at times, this was very much about the whole control factor and here the one is very much a Master and the other their pet.
There lots of anal, some medical scenarios, some very dubious consent heavily bordering on non-con.
This one very much focuses on the whole power exchange dynamic which I surprisingly liked.
I did think the ending and finale here was a tad rushed though.
So again that age-play: be aware that this is a massive feature in this book so best walk on by if that's not your particular Jam it's not lightly touched on either its one of the main focuses that and the total power exchange.
I myself did enjoy this one it was different and all sorts of strange and quirky.
I do personally think that Pani's Pov should have been included here I know the next book is told completely from her side but I kind of hate it when sequels do that,
I personally have no desire to rehash the exact same plot again from another perspective just put them in the same book already.
I think this missed out on its full potential by being purely single POV.
