For the genre and the subject matter this book delivers exactly what you'd expect from a gossip girl type novel with some spice. It has a few moments that feel really awkward pacing wise, but overall it was fun to read and it was really easy to just sit in the world of this book and not get distracted or tired of reading it.

If you are okay with the stepbrother love thing then you will like this book. Me personally I find it weird about that stepbrother love but it was a good book!

It’s YA novel trope bingo, folks! Get out your cards! As usual, we have traumatized teens acting like traumatized adults, a relationship rife with red flags, and a girl pursuing an emotionally unavailable guy. Add in weirdly troubling sexual sibling rivalry, the glorification of violence as foreplay, rich kids being rich kids, and over the top high school bullying - and we’ve got a clean sweep.

I’m not going to tell you that I wasn’t glued to every page. This book is a litany of everything my empowered adult-self knows to avoid, and everything my sixteen year old self was taught to love in a book. Reading it was like watching a horrifying car crash happen and not being able to look away. Sia would be proud. #cheapthrills

A truly problematic and trashy read that if you get into it you are somehow unable to stop.. don't think I'd recommend it to anyone, and yet I'm probably gonna read the next book out of morbid curiosity..

Soooo this one is complicated... The first half was a decent 4 star reading with some problematic and stereotypical scenes but nothing really bad. Then the second half came and it was just hot garbage. It seemed like the love interest and the MC were talking two different languages because they never understood the other ones problem. The "spicy" scenes made me cringe so bad and the only thing that kept me reading was the wattpad like writing. I wanted to like it so bad but I couldn't overlook some of the problems the book has. Overall the plot was fine and could have developed great but the execution was horrible. The addictive writing, some funny jokes, Easton (personal favourite) and the first half definitely push the rating for me but it just doesn't deserve the 3 stars. If you are in a reading slump and still have interest, go for it.
Now to the ending (spoiler free): The ending was so unneccesary. Without giving it away, they can technically start from scratch in the next book. And without any lessons to take away I ask myself: Why did they write this book? (Probably so i could write this passionately written review ;))
