This book was a Beatles history from a single fan’s perspective. Some great Beatles history, a lot I had never read (rare for me...) but mixed with personal experiences and opinions. Loved!

This is not a history of The Beatles, this book is by a fan and written for fans. And when I say "fans" I mean everyone who has ever enjoyed the Beatles. This book isn't just for those that grew up when the Fab Four were topping the charts on the regular. This is for everyone who has ever connected with their music and their stories and wondered "Why does this band still fascinate so many people?"

This is a collection of thoughts and ruminations by Sheffield on what The Beatles mean to him. You might not agree with everything he says, but you will recognize the debates that pop up between Beatles fans every day; good hearted arguments over which album or song is the best or most over looked. You'll see which stories stayed with Sheffield and it will remind you of the parts of The Beatles mythology you love the most, which legends have stayed with you.

Clever and witty and full of references to the Beatles and lots of other pop culture icons from then and now, if you are a Beatles fan, I highly recommend picking this up!

If you are looking for a measured biography, or a compelling reason to listen to the Beatles, this is not your book. This is a book by a fan for fans. This is a book for the sixth grader who borrowed 1 from her best friend and had her heart broken by Eleanor Rigby. This is a love letter to the greatest band of the 20th century and if you don’t agree, read something else.
