it's a pretty good short story that can be read really quickly. it does tug on the heartstrings a bit but because we don't have the time to get to know the characters more it just doesn't pack the punch as it could if it were longer

It’s Fredrick Backman. This one had a very powerful ending. Honestly… I can’t get over the humanity that spilled over these pages… the way you can’t hate a character because they’re too human. The struggles that only someone who has struggled can describe. It’s the experience.

I listened to this audiobook on my drive to family Christmas and I think that will become a tradition. It was a wonderful one to listen to (and production was great) and is both simple and complex. There’s a lot of wisdom and quoteworthy content in this novella. It really added to my holiday season though it isn’t exactly holiday themed (despite what the cover might suggest).
