I listened to this on audio which potentially made me enjoy it more. The narrator does all the different voices really well.

If you live in England - particularly if you are a middle class Londoner - you will have met these characters.  However, I thought the satirical portrayal of some characters was funny but others just descended into caricatures.

It’s a very dense novel. The sheer number of characters becomes confusing at times. And there’s too much of a focus on “woke” identity politics for my liking ://

Also is it really realistic that
a random uni student can take down the most powerful people in the country?

Pessimistic state-of-the-nation book. Characters mostly fall more on the side of ‘plot-serving’ than authentic or interesting - but only just. Provoked a reaction. Not sure it stuck the landing.
