Dunstan noticed how the silken fabric of her robe pressed itself against her body; he was aware of elegant curves, and of her violet eyes upon him, and he swallowed."
Very inappropriate reaction to learning that someone is enslaved.
"His hand felt her small breasts through the silk of her dress, touched the hard nubs of her nipples. She clung to him, hard, as if she were drowning, fumbling with his shirt, with his britches.
She was so small; he was scared he would hurt her and break her... had he known her name he would have called it aloud. ...He squeezed her small hand in his."
Focus is entirely on the fact that she is tiny and frail and a stranger to him.
That doesn't even include the entire premise of the book: a different man enslaving a different tiny woman, who then falls in love with him based on nothing more than his bad treatment of her, and her forced proximity to him.

I wish this book was longer!! The descriptions were so amazing. The characters were super compelling and felt like real people. The magic system was superb. I only wish that more of the main characters' adventure was described. I wanted to immerse myself in this world. If you love fantasy, definitely give this a read.

Stardust is a lighthearted fantasy with good wit, humour and a satisfying ending.
Although the language is old and not particularly politically correct, you can understand that Gaiman was not writing in a malicious offensive manner.
I may just have to watch the movie and see how it compares!

OK, I totally listened to this because Stardust is one of my all-time favourite movies... and you know what THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
This was sweet, utterly wholesome, and the perfect distraction for while I was doing a little bit of housework. It gave me such nostalgic vibes but was also so unique and captivating.
There are definitely differences between the movie and this dramatisation, and I know that I shouldn't make that comparison, especially since both are based on the book. After listening to this all I can say is, I have put the original book HIGHER on my TBR because it is just whimsical, cosy and adorably fun and wonderful to listen to. The amazing world created by Neil Gaiman came alive and made me re-fall in love with the story.
If you are like me and you cry at the end of Disney movies because they make you so happy, pick this up because it's just cute, sweet and adorable. These voice actors did an amazing job! This is a quick listen that you seriously wont regret!
