This was a very cute, adventurous fairytale, with many characters and magic along the way. All the characters were very lovable, and the writing had such lovely prose, making it an enjoyable read.

neil gaiman please put your pen down i cant support misogynistic storylines i know this isnt in your heart😭😭😭(/j i know the book is old)

the amount of times ive exploded tristran with my mind cannot be overstated. im gatekeeping all the ethereal girls from fantasy simps from now on because Men dont know how to be normal about women in mythological fairytales.

loved the worldbuilding and the entire concept of the storyline. ironically the poetic ending was my favorite, but i feel like this story should have been bigger in order to do the created universe and multiple sub plots justice. the characters felt somewhat underdeveloped. glad i read it tho, as always gaiman’s worldbuilding remains top tier <3 on to the next!

I enjoyed the prose in this novel, and the representation of Faerie that Neil Gaiman conjured. It was invigorating, tangible and hypnotic. The words flowed smoothly, like a trickling stream into a placid lake. What I wasn't too fond of was the plot. As someone who watched the film before reading the book, I was disappointed. There was no romance between Tristran and Yvaine, the ending seemed unfulfiling and rushed, and all together too tragic, and I felt that the absence of the endearing scenes and priceless characters from the film left the book boringly plain, and dull in places, despite the vivid descriptions and the pure imagination that Gaiman obviously used to breathe life into this tale.

Reseña pendiente ---- Lo bueno y breve, dos veces bueno. ¿Crear un mundo mágico entero para una humilde historia de amor? Lo primero que leo de Gaiman, pero puedo jurar que no lo último.
