6/5. I just finished the book and I cannot believe how much I loved it. I heard so many good reviews so going into it I lowered my expectations just in case I didn't like it (since I found "Shadow and Bone" a struggle to get through). But Oh. My. God. This. Book. I screamed, laughed, had to put the book down, had to hit the book, had to re-read many scenes, and had to just lie there with the book open on my head. It elicited every kind of emotion, mostly one of deep, deep yearning to hug all these characters very tightly and never let go. The plot was also just so unbelievably, beautifully planned out. The world, the politics of it were fascinating. I think, honestly, part of my immediate immersion into the world was fueled by my love for the cast of the "Shadow and Bone" Netflix series (they are legit perfect). However, I know I still definitely would have loved it regardless. Found family trope is one of my favourites. I could say a million more things but I'll leave it at this: Kaz Brekker needs so, so much therapy. Highly, highly recommend. (the book. and I mean therapy too.)

p.s., I currently do not have access to Crooked Kingdom, please pray for my sanity 🙏

I really liked this book and the whole fandom including things on Pinterest. It just was a bit long compared to what I normally read but I did like it.

It’s wild ride that really makes me wonder how I read it in the first place. I love it so much and the characters to. I’m really looking forward to season 2 of shadow and bone because I can’t wait to see them all on screen.

Funny, engaging, amazingly written. Honestly, reminded me why I love reading and that sometimes it is genuinely hard to make yourself stop reading. I am pushing the age though at which this is a fun adventure, I spend half of the book thinking how young these kids are and how much therapy they all need. Not saying this in a bad way, just putting it as a reminder to myself if I reread it, that this is something that changes your perspective. And just, it felt like all of these characters have some specific things added to them that are so special, and so real - problems/situations that exist - and it was not there just for the brownie points, they actually formed a coherent character and had an effect on the story. Though, to reiterate, every single one of the six has a diagnosable mental problem that they will need years of therapy and medicine to deal with.

My only problem is that ends in the middle of nowhere. I know people like to sell trilogies etc. but it literally was surprising when it ended because the kindle edition was not even done, maybe about 80%? It just feels like the first book should have ended 1 chapter earlier, and not in the middle of an action scene.
