Not as good as the first one, but certainly interesting. To be honest, I didn't like how the majority of the book was set in the modern world, as I felt it took away some magic from them. (Why are these books not in English?? I want everyone to read them.)

This story will take you on a roller coaster of emotions! A layered fantasy that will draw you in and keep you suspended as it unfolds.

We pick up right where we left off in Odin's Child, if only a bit forward. Hirka's journey has always felt inescapable in a way, where her choices would mount to something grand. She has always had a calm about her even when she was on the verge of losing it. Love is what motivates and moves her, the people she has come across through her journey are written on her heart.

The amount of information that was unloaded in The Rot blew my mind. The pacing was quick but it never felt rushed. The sense of urgency was for good reason! I absolutely groan when the characters make decisions that seem wrong; yet sometimes things must come down to be built up proper.

I cannot wait for the third installment! Thank you to Arctisbooks for the review copy in exchange for my honest review!

Stejně skvělý díl jako ten předchozí. Na začátku mě zarazilo, že se Hirka objevila v současném světě a bála jsem se, že to nebude tolik zajímavé jako v Ymslandě. Avšak autorka i přesto umí skvěle vtáhnout do děje, že to prostředí nakonec příběhu vůbec neuškodilo. I tak jsem měla radši části s Rimem (je skvělej! i když jsem si občas říkala: Kámo, co to děláš? :D).
Srašně moc se mě dotýkala Hirčina zmatenost. Úplně jsem cítila, jak chudák neví, komu by měla věřit a pořád zjišťuje něco nového. Sama v cizím světě, kdy nemá nikoho, na koho by se mohla 100% spolehnout. Přesto ukázala, že umí být silná.
Dále jsem hrozně žrala takové ty wtf? momenty. Prostě něco víte a najednou si přečtete jednu větu a všechno je jinak. A vy musíte zase všechno přehodnotit a celý si to přeskládat a už jenom čekáte, kdy to zase přijde (jestli má vůbec cenu něčemu věřit).
Láska mezi Hirkou a Rimem je úplně jinak zobrazovaná než v jiných dílech. Není to nic přeslazeného, protože na lásku tam prostě není čas i přesto, že se o ní oba několikrát zmiňují. Každý je ve svém jiném světě a musí se prát se svými starostmi. Až je to lehce dojemné.
Co je úplně skvělé, je to, že pro mě má kniha i hlubší význam. Dnešní svět je tam zobrazován jako místo, které už nemá šanci (zničené, plesnivé). Víra se tu skloňuje na tisíc způsobů. Člověk je tvor, který ničí svůj svět. Opravdu smekám!
