I think I might enjoy this book more if I actually read it. Found the prose and accents hard to follow

My toxic trait is that I read this as a romance novel

I don’t understand how anyone reads this book and thinks it’s a romance (and I do not think Emily Brontë intended it to be one).

This book is really interesting and I think there’s a lot going on in it, but I didn’t necessarily enjoy the experience of reading it. 3/5 for now but I could see this book raising in my esteem once I’ve sat with it for a bit.

Boring and insipid. Emily Bronte foregoes a potentially exciting storytelling technique through young Catherine's book-margin diary for the stupider device of second and third-hand accounts. In doing so, she has to contrive for the servant to be present in every awkward scene and make her powerless. So unnecessary and uninteresting. There are, I grant, a few passionate, lyrical monologues, but they are strangled by the storytelling.

I am really torn about my feelings for this book. Wuthering Heights has been on my to-read shelf for years. I love Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I don't know what I was expecting but I can tell you this--it definitely wasn't what I just read.

The story is very well written and I was compelled to finish.

I had to read this book because of my world literature class in high school. I really disliked this story. I found the characters to be whiny and annoying. I know a lot of people enjoy this book but, i couldn't get into it.

I gave this a second read and I didn't like it much more than the 1st time. It is just not for me.
