Well … I would not recommend it to a friend.
The murder mystery was fine. Not the best, but not the worst. The romance however was terrible. I hated both Miranda and Chase. Underdeveloped characters, stuck in their patterns of behavior. Nothing was learned, there was no growth in sight.
And all the cliches … why? I’m sure that even in 1993 this wasn’t popular.
The only one I liked was Miss St. John, but I just might be biased when it comes to eccentric old ladies.

My last book for 2014 and I was right, I could never go wrong with Tess Gerritsen! The story's not that complicated but Dr. Gerritsen never failed to make me keep flipping pages and keep guessing up to the very end. It's a romantic thriller but the romance never got in the way of the thrill. It was a fun ride and a great read to end my 2014!

This is a good mystery thriller that combines all the traditional elements of a small town murder wrapped up in affairs, gossip and secrets with Gerritsen's superb writing talent. Granted there is nothing new or amazingly shocking in the story but sometimes you just need a good bit of crime fluff to break up all the heavy reading I'm sure you do. And this is one of those books. An all round good read.

This was my first introduction to Tess. She sold me on her writing style. I didnt see the end coming - very twisty! Definitely not my last book by Tess!

One of my favourite authors, and while I 'don't do' romance I like her way of linking thriller and romance together. This is among her earlier work, before the 5 star ratings of Rizzoli and Isles books, but still the captivating story telling keeps you reading.

Presumed Guilty by Tess Gerritsen
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Miranda wood has been working her entire life to get to where she is now. And then one stupid man got in the way. Of course he made her think she loved him but when she realises she doesn't, he won't let her leave. The phonecalls, texts and messages won't stop. She has left him and he can't handle it. Afterall, he normally does the leaving part when he gets bored. But miranda is determined. So when she knows he is yet again gonna turn up at her house very shortly, she leave before he can. Only problem is, when she returns he is still there. In her house. In her bed. And he's dead. And miranda looks like the prime suspect.

Another amazing standalone by Tess Gerritsen. She never misses. This was thrilling and had me hooked from the very beginning. Quite dark in some places but there in the midst of it all is also an unexpected love story. I really enjoyed this one!

This was my first book by Tess.. I really enjoyed her work.. It got me gripped from the beginning.. At first I was unsure as the chapters are rather long but they were fine in the end.. I look forward to reading more of her work!

you can tell when the book is the authors older work because the way she developed as an author is insane, not to say this book is bad or anything just the writing style is slightly underdeveloped compared to her more recent books

It was okay. It wasn't something that really grabbed my attention.
