A really good time. Plot was interesting with great plot twists. Even though yona was naive and the kind of girl I would normally hate I didn’t find her insufferable. In fact I can’t wait for her to learn how to fight (hopefully) and be all badass. I’m really waiting for that day. I really like her and Hak because they are so cute. (Her original crush on her cousin , though valid because he is hot, was kinda werid. I get it though they are in ancient times.)

I still this the cousin plot line was really werid though like was the incest part necessary? I get that it’s if the time but still… unsettling.

This has been highly recommended as a fantasy manga with a strong political metaplot. Volume 1 balances the character introduction, major plot kickoff and initial worldbuilding well.
