Okay so the first thing that surprised me and got me absolutely hooked on this book was the characters. Yes, the plot was ok, the story was ok, the cliffhanger? Slightly intriguing, and the plot twist, yes that was a good one. But overall I must say that the characters take the cake.
in a modern setting such as the one set in the book, most authors tend to set their female protagonists as dopey, naive, stupidly stubborn in what is supposed to be an "appealing" way, and head over heels for both love interests in that wonky little triangle of theirs.
and the love interests seem to be made for being broody, beating eachother up, and only thinking about miss protag.
but these characters were clever-really clever, witty, and although there were cliche's here and there they were really mature about the whole love triangle thing-like really mature (it made me happy) even the cliched smart, aloof character and token mean girl were like-able and a little different than their respective cliches. So I will reccomend this book.

I absolutely loved this one! It’s jumps into the action right away and never slows down! It’s one of those YA books where you can forget that the characters are teenagers at times because you’re just so engrossed in the story and wanting to know what happens next!
I highly recommend this one if you enjoy YA thrillers with crazy smart kids and don’t mind a little bit of gore!
