A far repressed version of what Ed Gein really did.

3,25 una storia horror che è diventata un cult, anche se non sono riuscita a godermela appieno dato che già conoscevo il twist finale.

Ho trovato un po' strano il linguaggio usato, ma per essere stato scritto nel 1959 ci sta, niente da dire.

I recommend to anyone who likes the movie - it’s interesting to compare. I always enjoy being able to get the characters narrative and thoughts that aren’t always able to be captured on screen… Especially Norman and Lila’s thoughts and motivations in this story.

I much prefer the Hitchcock film (as well as the EXCELLENT Bates Motel series, go watch it if you've not seen it), but the original Psycho novel is a must-read if you're a fan. It unfortunately doesn't carry as much weight if you know how it ends, but it still makes for a good read and really dives into Norman Bates' conscience.

I think I enjoyed it more having somehow not actually seen the movie, so somehow the story still held some surprise for me.

Honestly if I had never seen the movie and had just read this for the first time I would've been floored with the twist. I bet when it first came out it fucked people up haha now off to rewatch the movie!
