It's got an interesting premise but the writing can feel repetitive, it is very tell, don't show and the pacing feels of. Neither the main character nor the love interest feel like actual teenagers. All in all just wasn't for me. I think this book would have a better time finding the right audience with a middle grade tag.

I want to try reading this again sometime. I found myself getting confused by their names, because it was unclear if their names were in Eastern or Western format (last name and then first name, or first name and then last name). I'll admit I didn't give it much of a chance.
