I know that many fans of the Agatha books aren't keen on this new author, but for some reason I am loving his contributions to the series, he has taken Agatha and actually made her more likeable, and she really needed to be.
The mystery is one that kept me guessing and is almost two-pronged. We have the mystery of who is committing the burglaries, and then there is the murder. Initially it appears that they could be connected, but then the letters start to arrive, begging the question "who hates Agatha enough to threaten her life with weird word puzzles?"...
I enjoyed the fact that the story kept me guessing and even when one mystery was solved there was another one dangling beneath it.
I still believe that Charles and Agatha belong together - have done since he was first introduced...it seemed as though he was getting a little more serious in his endeavours to get Agatha where he wanted her in this book, but unfortunately for him, Agatha is a woman who knows what she wants and because of past mistakes can't see him as anything more than someone she once had an encounter with and now sees as little more than a humorous past conquest.
