Хороший переклад і дуже цінні коментарі. Але помітно, що поетичність не була пріоритетом, тож якщо порівнювати з деякими іншими перекладами, може здатися дещо багатослівно.

A well organized translation and commentary to the DaodeJing. It was very easy to follow and I love how each chapter begins with the Chinese text, followed by the translation them followed by an analysis of that chapter. My favorite had to have been chapter 20, which compared normal people who know what they want or enjoy as to the Daoist who simply wants the whole experience.

This version of the ancient Chinese text includes commentaries after each chapter that go a long way toward explaining some of the more obscure passages. That said, sometimes reading the words and not understanding them is as enlightening an experience as believing you have understood their intent.

Read this for class and I enjoyed learning about the Dao de Jing but this was dense, especially the beginning
