The science still holds up at some points which is pretty cool. Interesting take on vampires, but uncomfortably dated (views of the 50s in regards to women and POCs).

Powerful. The exploration of the cause was an interesting angle

and both the dog and Ruth’s appearance and exit shocked me. The ending too… so much loss.

A quick and engaging read; I look forward to the film.

Still a solid way to start the year with my first book. The writing was good, I think it was mostly because of the pacing that I had issues about it because I think most of the story came about halfway. Still solid though, and a good and defining classic in the vampiric genre.

the main character is annoying and unlikable but the environment and the way that the author deals with already existing lore of vampires is interesting. There are better things to read though and I wouldn't recommend it.
