A really strong thriller, with a group of young friends and a dog stranded in the mountains. There's elements of survival horror here, filtered through a YA lens, including romantic elements and issues between best friends coming to the fore.

I thought this was an entertaining, quick listen, and while I would hesitate to recommend to anyone who dislikes the young adult style, I do think there's plenty here for adult readers to sink their teeth into and enjoy. The audiobook narration was excellent and made listening an enjoyable experience.

When it comes to thrillers I either like it or dislike it. this one was yet another one I have disliked. I felt the beginning was very slow and when the pacing finally picked up it was the last chapter of the book.

You know I love a good YA thriller and this one did not disappoint! Although I found the characters a bit juvenile, I definitely got some nostalgic teen movie vibes from them

Got this book in a bargain bin and can definitely say it was worth a $5 buy. It was a quick read, nothing too groundbreaking but a great ending!

Overall, this just wasn't my cup of tea. But I can see why others would enjoy it.

Things that were on point:
- wintery setting of the Sierra Nevada Mountains
- the sibling relationship
- strong female lead characters
- interesting premise
- quick read

Things that missed the mark:
- a bit slow and anticlimactic
- for a thriller there's not much suspense or sense of urgency - they're trapped on a mountain for crying out loud
- while strong, the main character got really annoying
- very stereotypical characters
- the God/faith talk was a bit excessive the second half of the book
