Graphic: Death, Rape, Pregnancy, and War

Accidentally read this out of order but it felt like a stand-alone, perhaps because of my love for the movie Troy. Anyway, a brilliant concept that was well-executed. Excited to read the first book now lol

Defs one of my favorite Greek retellings the only thing detracting from it is how briseis refers to her fellow women. Like spending a whole childbirth (three chapters) talking abt how fat and ugly the mother is was very off putting

I thought because it was titled the women of Troy we would get more personal perspectives, but instead we mostly only got Briseis’ perspective. It was a great read and I would re-read it for that I gave it 4 stars.
