The plot twists of this book are the reason for the star rating. You can never trust the characters. However, this book was just as captivating if not more than the first. I highly recommend this series.

I simply didn't feel connected to the first book enough to continue with the second book. Nothing I do will help me feel inclined to pick this up and keep reading. An unfortunate DNF as I had such high hopes for this series!

Je suis du genre à moins aimer les tome 2 alors j’avais un peu peur de le commencer mais franchement c’était super bien !
J’ai quand même préféré le tome 1 mais j’ai adoré voir Isla découvrir ses pouvoirs et les chapitres « souvenir » étaient trop bien parce que perso je suis team Grim

what the hell happened? what happened to the people i came to like in the first book? that one thrived on interactions, differencies, magic. nightbane is .. boring in comparison. wdym oro, the most powerful of them all, is only good for a "what are you thinking love?" and "how can i help you love?" be for fcking real man. isla? what happened to you girl?? you had such amazing character development in the first book only to become a love sick puppy now who (somehow) survives on pure luck and what you're wielding. grim? i'm sorry you were turned into the black sheep that everyone was supposed to hate. especially isla. that girl cannot think for herself to save her life. "would you risk the life of a thousand people just to save the king?" and that girl said yes??? you know if for what??? six months?? truly hope the last book will be better than this.
