I enjoyed reading Nightbane even more than Lightlark! In this book the main character, Isla, is not only living in the aftermath of everything that happened in Lighlark, but is also having flashback and memories of what happened before Lightlark. It is a sequel and a prequel all in one book! This book has answered so many questions I had when I was reading Lightlark. It had so much more information about some of the other characters in the book.

There is a love triangle throughout this whole series. I am without a doubt 100% on Team Grim. I was when I read Lighlark and after reading Nightbane I most definitely still am!

This book ends with a huge cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the third book! Hopefully we won't have to wait too long!

If you are looking for a fun YA fantasy series to read, I suggest you give Lightlark and Nightbane a try. I think you will really enjoy them.

Ugh the whole time I wanted more to happen. It’s an in between book.

Okay take two. I wrote this whole review and then accidentally deleted it.

Contains spoilers for book one and two.

I enjoyed this more than the second book. It was not mind blowing or anything, but it was enjoyable. I I liked learning about the relationship between Isla and Grim through her regaining her memories at the same time she was exploring her relationship with Oro.

That being said, Oro had the personality of a rock. I didn't understand why Isla would pursue a relationship with him. This is going to sound weird, but her reminded me of the Christian fundamentalist teens on reality tv who are
"courting" and don't go past side-hugs and maybe hand-holding. I mean they did far more than that, but he seemed so weirdly chaste at the same time.

In addition we were told in book one that Grim and Isla have this earth-shattering love for each other that she just needs to remember and yet when it's revealed my response was "wait...thats it?" Basically they finally bone and then they're instantly in love and would tear down the world for each other. Edward and Bella was a more
"epic" love story than this...at least so far.

I realize I just shit all over this book, but I did actually find it enjoyable and will read the next in the series.

THIS BOOK ATE DOWNNN. Oh my gosh. The BEFORE chapters?? finding out grim and isla’s love story???? GRIM. I was slightly mad at the fact that they could have just SPOKE about all this but my god this was too good to not give 5 stars too. “WHICH ONE? WHICH ONE DID THIS TO YOU?… FINE ALL OF THEM THEN” lovely, incredible, breathtaking. This was neverrrr a love triangle. It’s Grim. 🥰
