I 100% thought this series was a duology when I started Lightlark. I would NOT have started it if I knew it was a trilogy and I was going to be left with a huge cliffhanger

I couldn’t distinguish the two male leads because they are essentially the exact same. I liked the concept of the first book, but this book Isla was still a damsel and that annoyed me. Also the last 20 pages had the biggest revelations that could have been realized half way through. Also every time Isla feels betrayed I’m confused as to why. Imagery was mirky. I really wanted to like this book because of the potential but the writing itself is lacking. Still a big Grim fan.
Update: I’m reading ACOTAR series and I now understand the reviews that this books is a poorly written knock off. Not to say Maas is a brilliant writer or creator of worlds because her book is wayyyy more twilight then these.
