I really really liked this book! I picked it up randomly from my parents bookshelf so that it was a 5 star read came as a surprise
The revolt of the angels is a satire of everything French society of the time had to offer. Organised Religion of course is at the forefront but also war, high and low society, the academic circles etc. While it sounds like a very radical book, it is surprisingly funny, from character interactions to the chapter names.
All in all I would recommend to anyone who feels some kinda way about Christian societies and the Church.
