Heinously difficult read. It's useful to read for "serious" Marxists, critics of Marx, etc., but not mandatory: the key ideas are present in his other writings in a form less likely to give you a brain bleed. Marx's ability to hone in on sociological and economic phenomena and expose their gritty inner workings is unmatched, despite the sloggishness.

If you ever sat down and thought "commodities, how the fuck do those work?", then read this.

One of the most important books of all time. It could have been cut down a bit, however. Some of the examples and explanations whirl around in such a way as to overcomplicate a point rather than clarify it.
