Funny story: Laurel brought me a copy to read when we had breakfast at Waffle House this morning, and the hostess stood about 4” from me and read along the whole way. That in and of itself is a testament to HUNGRY JIM. This clever picture book has lines that beg to be read aloud and corresponding illustrations that had me cackling and gasping.

Everyone, especially children, need language to describe the feelings and emotions that swirl in their heads and hearts. HUNGRY JIM will help with that, as Snyder's fable-like tale cleverly addresses how a sour mood can spoil a day.
