Holy cow!!! This has got to be my favorite leia stone book to date! She has this uncanny ability to transport you to another world with her humor, sarcasm and steamy romance. I am in love with Lincoln and Bri. They make the most magnetic couple!!!! I read the whole book in half a day and could not put it down. She has another winner on her hands. Now I just need book two to come out ASAP!!!!

This book was referred to me by a friend and I loved it! It reminded me of Maxium Ride crossed with college and more mythical creatures.

*spoilers ahead*

The Characters: I liked Brielle a lot. 1) her nake (current Emily note: idk what nake stands for...and I can't for the life of me figure it out, this is on me) is really pretty and 2) I love how powerful she is with all 4 tattoos & black wings. It was cool to read about how selfless she was her family and how she grew in power throughout the book. I liked Lincoln a lot. He seems like a cool character and it’s interesting to read about another young Celestial. I liked all her friends and family a lot. Lots of love for Shea, Luke, Chloe, Mikey, and her mom. I also thought her other celestial trainers were really interesting. I liked Darren, Blake and Noah a lot. Obvi not a big fan of Tiffany.

The Plot: I really liked the pacing of the book. It didn’t draw anything out and it kept my interest the entire time. It was so interesting learning about the demon vs angel bound and the different powers you’d have. I also love the tattoo ideas cause that probably looked awesome on Bri. I also really liked the concept of the different classes and the Gauntlet at the end. I felt the romance was potentially sped up a little too quickly for my liking. I feel like they could have danced around it a little bit longer. I’m super excited that Bri is also connected to Lucifer. I’m excited for her to use her dark magic. I also love Bri’s black wings and Sera. That’s really cool how her weapon talks to her.

The Book Cover/Art: …so this is where my critique comes. I don’t like people on the covers of books BUT it does help me with the visual of what Bri likes so I guess it’s fine.

My Critiques: My main critique is the person on the book cover. Also at times it read a bit more YA like but it wasn’t that distracting.

Overall, I really like the premise! I’m excited to read the rest of the series.
