IF you LOVE a book with some short stories right before bed, then this is for you!

IF you LOVE a book that has plot twists, then this one if surely for you!

If you just want something different and yet mildly refreshing, then this is absolutely for you!

IF you enjoy sitting around telling stories and tales with friends, THEN READ THIS!

This was fun before bed. A short story a night, but I really, really, REALLY like to get to know my characters and that is not feasible in this type of short story. You get to know them, sure, but they are not well developed. It was different, and I think I needed that after a book hangover, but this is not something that I would read often.

A fine collection of interesting stories collected by the author during his prison days. However the suspense is not present and as all stories are about crimes that got caught, monotony sets in very fast.

Pretty good. Most are true stories.
lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

interesting little tales about human nature. i guess they're supposed to be true stories which adds a dimension to them.

I'm glad that my introduction to Jeffrey Archer came from Kane and Able, The Prodigal Daughter, and Not a Penny Less, Not a Penny More. I love Jeffrey Archer's novels, but his short stories left me indifferent. I didn't dislike them exactly. I just didn't love them either. None of the stories really wove a tale. They seemed more recitations of events. Some of the stories in this collection were inspired by stories heard during his term in jail, including "The Man Who Robbed His Own Post Office" which was a story that seemed quite similar to the premix in Not a Penny Less, Not a Penny More.
